Jets Trolled After Asking about First Preseason TD

Cortland, NY: Who will catch the first touchdown pass of the 2013 preseason for the Jets? This is the question that was posed on the team’s Facebook page earlier, and has elicited the wrath of trolls and fans alike.

Why? Because the first, and last, preseason TD for the Jets last year happened in their last preseason game, in the second quarter. The connection was current 3rd string quarterback Greg McElroy to 2012 6th round draft pick running back Terrance Ganaway. Ganaway was promptly cut from the roster for the score.

Now, with a muddled quarterback race, a skeleton corp of wide receivers, and Bilal Powell as their only running/full/half back by default, the question that should be raised is, “Who will score the first TD of the 2013 season?”

Some believe that the Jets will score, at least by some miracle blooper that turns out okay, like Keanu Reeves in The Replacements. Whether this miracle blooper will come from Mark Sanchez or Geno Smith remains to be seen.
