Washington Redskins Hire Wrong Gruden as Head Coach

Landover, MD: Mike Shanahan will be officially replaced as the head coach of the Washington Redskins today as sourced have stated that Dan Snyder has agreed to terms with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, who just so happens to be the brother highly touted former head coach Jon Gruden.

It is unknown if Snyder has accidentally hired the wrong Gruden due to issues in Washington surrounding names, with his own team name, “Redskins,” being the most public issue. Coincidentally, the U.S. Trademark Office rejected the trademark for “Redskins Hog Rinds,” explaining that “Registration is refused because the applied-for mark REDSKINS HOG RINDS consists of or includes matter which may disparage or bring into contempt or disrepute persons, institutions, beliefs, or national symbols.” This trademark issue could be cited in the on-going battle over Washington’s team name.

Could the naming problems have scrambled Dan Snyder’s brain into hiring the wrong Gruden? We shall see. The official statement is believed to be released at a press conference today at 4pm EST.
