Asinine Analysis AFC Championship: New England Patriots VS Denver Broncos

It has been a Conference rivalry that has spanned three divisions, three teams, thirteen years, 1 passing touchdown record, and after today will be 15 bouts of football. This is Tom Brady VS Peyton Manning, again, for a trip to the Super Bowl, again, and this game comes with even more ridiculous build-up than I could ever hope to fit in a paragraph.

The New England Patriots visit the Denver Broncos in the AFC Championship game today and, while there are many players on the field, it feels like the last stand for both quarterbacks (who will both likely be back next year to continue this insane storyline). Peyton Manning is crushing records left and right on his way to win another Super Bowl to shut everyone the hell up about how his position as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the NFL is debatable. Tom Brady seems to be playing in a sort of “what the hell am I supposed to do with this crap” haze in relation to the rest of his team and winning anyway, but looks more and more bored and fed up.

Whatever happens after this game, we can be sure of one thing: these quarterbacks will put on a show, because the defenses of these teams are downright horrible.

So let’s look at the lines and picks, as well as some more absurd over/under lines that should be taken up by Vegas.

Line: Denver -4.5    Pick: Denver

Over/Under Points: 57   Pick: Over

Over/Under Times Peyton Manning yells “Omaha”: 150   Pick: Over

Over/Under Times Tom Brady yells at an official: 5   Pick: Under

Over/Under Times Bill Belichick throws the challenge flag: 2   Pick: Over, even if he loses one

Over/Under Times sportscasters mention that this game is a duel between the greatest quarterbacks of this generation: 65   Pick: Over
